The Blue Earth is our flagship tour that we typically recommend for beginner paddlers and recreational groups. Beginning at the Rapidan Dam, this 9 mile stretch of river is filled with lots of wildlife, large landmarks and beautiful waterfalls, including Triple Falls. The Blue Earth tour will end at the County Road 90 bridge, where you will be shuttled back to the outfitter. Shuttles run at 9am, 11am and 1pm, Thursday-Sunday.

Includes canoe or tandem kayak, paddles, PFDs, snacks, roundtrip shuttle service.

Let us take you on a guided 4-Hour Tour. We will drive, so you can sit back relax and enjoy the sites and tastes of Southern Minnesota!

We will start in the morning by driving to Minneopa State Park, just outside of Mankato to view the Bison herd. This herd of 20 is unique, having high quality genetics descending from the type of bison Lewis and Clark gazed upon in the 1830s. The Minnesota Bison Conservation Herd is managed in partnership between the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Minnesota Zoo to preserve genetically diverse bison for the enjoyment of all people. Visitors can drive through the enclosed 331 acres of the park to catch a glimpse at these beautiful giants.

Next, we will have a short walk feel inspired by the gorgeous waterfall at Minneopa State Park.

We will head to Morgan Creek Vineyard, a 20-minute car ride, to have a wine tasting and lunch at the vineyard (lunch paid on own).

After lunch, head back to the Moulin Rouge House for some downtown or continue from there by walking to local brewery or shops!

We will arrange a private wine tasting experience for you at our local winery, Chankaska Creek Ranch & Winery.

The Private Wine Tasting Experience is a formal and private tasting experience that begins with a tour touching on our vineyard, our grounds, and our production floor. After the tour, a short lesson on wines and wine tasting will be offered to you. During a private tasting, you are able to taste five of our award-winning wines. Our private tastings are conducted by a dedicated wine educator. This experience includes a mixed platter of dry-cured meat and artisan cheese for you to enjoy during the tasting.

Make a full weekend of it and stay at Moulin Rouge House for 2 Nights, Friday and Saturday, then join us in Lake City after breakfast on Sunday for an afternoon sail on your way back home.

Mysterium is a 35-Foot Columbia sailboat with cabin for your comfort and enjoyment. There is a full kitchen, living room and bathroom on board.

After check-out and brunch on Sunday, we will drive 2 hours to Lake City, MN, which is a scenic country drive. Enjoy lunch on your own at one of the many delicious restaurants downtown Lake City. Meet at the Lake City Marina at 1pm to board Mysterium. Captain Chris is a US Coast Guard licensed captain. He will give you a brief introduction to the boat and safety measures before setting sail on Lake Pepin, with inspiring bluffs and limestone cliffs. Feel free to “learn the ropes of sailing” or sit back and relax in the cooling breeze. We’ll serve refreshments and show you the sites of Lake Pepin.

After a 3-hour sail, return to the Lake City Marina and head home. It’s approx. a 1.5 Hour Drive from Lake City to the Minneapolis/ St. Paul area.
